here is the link

they have another book, "Why Children Can't Read", which I am sold on but I think we need something very structured-a "do this for 10 minutes at 8.30 in the morning with a glass of orange juice" type approach. (we are expecting baby #3 in a few weeks and so naturally ds has decided that he MUST learn to read NOW NOW NOW

Oh and we are homeschoolers, that is probably relevant somewhere. And ds is 4.4 and recognises letters.

Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons?

The classroom version of Reading Reflex is called Phono-Graphix -both programmes are designed for remedial reading. They are produced by C and G McGuinness in America and are based on the research of Prof. D. McGuinness

Prof. D.McGuinness, author of the wonderful book 'Why children can't read' is related to C and G, but lives in the UK. She and a colleague have now produced a fab. remedial, 1-1 programme for the UK, called the Sound Reading System - I use it

The Sound Reading System is, basically, a remedial programme which is based on the synthetic phonics method -so, for home use, you just need to get a good synthetic phonic programme and stick to it. I recommend Jolly Phonics as being particularly small-child friendly.

Prof. D. McGuinness has written another book especially for parents, 'Growing a reader from birth' (recommended)

For a vast amount of information and advice on teaching reading using the synthetic phonics method, look at:
