Thank you so much….I’m hoping sone girls will stay on and your right reading the reports are so beneficial…..she’s also been offered LVS and not sure it’s a fit for her but feel hb will be and urs a personal perception of a school as if you have a good experience that’s what counts. I’ve pastoral is good and the fact they do homework there a massive plus

BettyMigs · 15/12/2022 07:58

@Catmoon this is very good advice. Please read the latest inspection report from
Greenfield.

www.isi.net/school/greenfield-school-6491

It did not meet the standards for management or safeguarding.

Anniah · 15/12/2022 08:12

@BettyMigs the email with the 8% fee increase was beautifully timed of course to coincide with the end of term.

I agree too with GLive, I'm hoping they will rethink the logistics and plan if they ever consider repeating. Very many parents were incredibly cross.
The week before, I attended my nephews Christmas show at a prep in South London. It was in the hall, which was decoded beautifully, there were mince pies and mulled wine for parents and it was a truly festive affair. it was a wonderful, authentic experience for children, parents and staff.

Anniah · 15/12/2022 08:13

That inspection report!!!

GF must be on their last legs! Charging past pupils for exams GF forgot to invoice! Not the parents’ fault someone dropped the ball all those years ago. Is that even allowed?

BettyMigs · 27/02/2023 19:23

Its outrageous! My child left over 2 years ago and I was sent an invoice today for less that £50! Why? Come on GF, this is an embarrassing and shambolic lack of competence in your accounting.
Other past and current parents equally bemused this afternoon!

LCPearce · 01/04/2023 06:41

Recently came across this post. All I can add is I can unfortunately agree with all the negative comments regarding Greenfield School on here. What we as parents taught our child was to always give your 100% best.
What Greenfield taught our child - if you give your 100% best attitude and effort, you will never get the recognition for anything unless you are one of the SLT’s favourite pupils. Slowly saw the confidence and spark fade from our child as they thought they were never enough so what was the point in even trying…

BettyMigs · 01/04/2023 14:55

It’s such a shame because so many of the teaching staff are really wonderful but the management is a complete shambles. They seem to make poor decisions time and time again.
@LCPearce you are spot on. The favouritism is diabolical and exists throughout the school.

Tpicks · 05/04/2023 14:05

Used to be a really lovely school until they moved to the new site years ago. Now it is unrecognisable. Leadership don’t know or care about the children unless it is their select favourites.

Pencilr · 08/05/2023 13:32

The more I talk to my kids the more worrying things come to light. I’m not going to name names but a certain member of SLT regularly shows up to teach their classes late but somehow has a cup of tea in their hand? I’m paying for this? In addition we’ve had meeting that have been completely forgotten about by a senior member of staff and it is very obvious that they are “winging” it. I can’t believe I am even writing this about a school that used to be highly recommended. But it seems to be more of dating site now rather than a school! I find it very unprofessional that a new relationship has started, and not under the best circumstances either! What message is this giving to our kids! They know more that the school lets on!
They are supposed to be inclusive but calling SEN kids “space cadets” is not the “old” Greenfield way.
I just hope that the new head will be able to turn this place around but they will probably be in SLT’s pocket too, such a shame.
The Devil works hard but SLT work harder.

ExGreenfieldParent · 08/05/2023 14:26

Another relationship in interesting circumstances? I am curious now!
I do agree with previous posters that there is an issue with favouritism, and that quieter children can be overlooked. One member of the SLT seems particularly interested in self-promotion rather than in the children’s best interests.

BettyMigs · 08/05/2023 14:47

I’ve heard about this one too. It’s a disgrace.
No surprise that the head is jumping from her sinking ship.
Hopefully the new head can turn things around. All I hope is that they are neutral and fair and ideally not related to anyone else there!

restocopz · 08/05/2023 14:48

Thank you for writing such a nice blog with useful information. I hope you will share some more info.

Very interesting how they seem to have taken down any posts that refer to Greenfield! It was very hard to find this one.
Just incase anyone is still
following or deciding on whether to keep your children at Greenfield or go there, a lot of year 6 parents have not been given there full refund back this year - all still about the lamda fees from ex pupils years back that someone previously commented on on this thread.

Long service awards which has been going for well over 10 years have now gone… because saving that tiny bit of money is more important that awarding the kids.

The school must be in serious financial problems - parents were asked to buy croissants and other food themselves for a French picnic the school put on but wouldn’t provide food for…

and I don’t even know when the last day trip was….. I honestly couldn’t even tell you….

Anniah · 20/07/2023 16:00

Getting rid of the Long Service Award (and without any warning) was very mean, lots of children and parents were very sad about this.
The new head who starts Sept 2024 came across well when he spoke briefly at Prize Giving. I really hope he can turn things around.
By the way, does anyone know why the children were never able to use the all weather courts and the trampoline?
