Wondering if anyone has any recent news of Charterhouse. Am interested in hearing how girls are settling in now the school is fully co-Ed. Thinking of DD and wondering if should apply.
Thanks all 😁

My DD started in Sept and is having a wonderful time. The school have done a great job in preparing for the arrival of the girls.

My DD is in final year of sixth form there, and only has good things to say about the school. She would happily stay another few years if she could! I believe the transition to having girls throughout has been pretty smooth. We have been impressed with the school in general, would recommend.

@marsden9 I'd welcome any info, good or bad, that you can share about sixth form girls at Charterhouse, as we are applying for entry in 2023. My girls are a bit shy and quiet, very academically capable but also all-rounders. We've been living in Asia for the past few years so they will enjoy getting back to UK climate and sporting activities.

Does Charterhouse clear out at the weekend, given that they have a Saturday night policy? We will be remaining overseas and wouldn't like to have our kids stuck alone whilst their friends all go home.

School is on the up I hear. All latest changes (girls curriculum etc) for good while still maintaining original ethos. I would check on weekends if you are overseas as you say, don't have data points as all my friends with kids there live in Greater London.

are most sixth formers locals, international or Chinese as my DS is from HK and would like to expose to more native english classmates to improve his english and learn UK culture ? Any related information would be highly appreciated. Thanks

@millroad There are always a good contingent that stay at the weekends, and they do a very compelling Sunday brunch which helps. The school is big enough, with enough of a mix of international vs. Uk students that it's not a problem. Most girls (and boys) settle in very well even if more on the shy side. They have very good pastoral care. The school is fun, vibrant and ambitious. I've had both a girl in sixth form and a boy start in year 9 there and would recommend it.
