Hi there, please, anyone with experience/thoughts and advice about Bethany School in Goudhurst. I have already visited it and we liked the support for my dyslexic child. As I should move to Tunbridge Wells if we choose this school.

I know of a couple of families with a child at Bethany. Both of the children are what you could call ‘quirky’ and struggled with friendships/learning at their previous prep schools. Both fitted in quickly at Bethany and I gather that both families are very happy there. I haven’t seen either family for a while though so I don’t have any greater details - sorry! Smile

I know a couple of children now in their late teens/early 20s who went there. Both popular with other children previously but considered boisterous. Both had dyslexia. They came out fine but I don’t think either went up academically from their previous schools (both fee paying).

Hi - I am looking at Bethany for my son who is 10 and has Aspergers and ADHD. He’s very bright and well above age expectations in reading / maths etc but struggling to make friends despite constantly trying and also I do notice (but his current school don’t because he’s so bright) that he struggles to understand and follow instructions that everyone else can follow. He needs a small mainstream co Ed school that is not super sporty, good academically and has plenty of other nerdy/geeky kids but not high pressure with small classes and teachers who have training and experience in HFA. Possibly some kind of gifted and talented programme for maths/science. Does anyone here have kids at Bethany with a similar profile? Or know of any small independent schools in any direction within 2 hours of London. We would love to live nearby and only need to go into Lindon occasionally.

Mighty also be worth looking at Sackville School in Hildenborough and/or Beechwood in Tunbridge Wells.
