Hi, my DD currently goes to cumnor house nursery and its a great nursery. I have had heard negative reviews about the cumnor boys but the girls schools is good.
I have applied to croydon high as its nearer to me and has better facilities and as its an all through school so do not have to worry about 11plus.
DD has a place in cumnor girls for reception so will keep both options open.

Thank you yes that's what I was thinking about the 11plus but we have two boys and one girl I was thinking it would be best to keep them under one umbrella

I really am impressed with Croydon high

I have recent experience with CHS Boys and Girls. My comments differ for each school so it's worth considering each of them separately. I cannot fault the Girls School at all. The headmistress is passionate and has a clear vision. She, and the teachers, are great at teaching the girls to express themselves confidently and really focus on building the girls' ambitions and individuality. My only wish is that they went through to secondary. The Boys school is more of a mixed bag. My experience (or my son's) has been very good. They do push him quite hard but I also feel he is seen as an individual even though he doesn't fit the mould. I say my view is mixed because (i) there have been too many changes at the Head level in recent years but hopefully that will settle, and (ii) I know that others have not found the experience as good and, to be honest, I can't tell if they're getting a different level of feedback from the school or if they have unrealistic expectations about what any school could do for their children. It's probably a mix. Based on my experience, though, I would recommend CHS Boys. Provision during lockdown was incredible at both schools with teachers working very hard to adapt. As always, there were a fair number of parents who complained but, when I compare our experience to that of friends with children at different schools, the continuity of learning at CHS Boys and Girls was fantastic.
