He had a rash, complaining he was tired, has antibiotic related diarrhoea, and is pale as a ghost.

He's not ill, not prostrated on the sofa, but he's only been to school 3 days out of 10 for the past 2 weeks, and I'm fed up of it. He's only 4, I can't make him go in, so what's a good pick me up for kids I can ram down his throat this week end?

Its the end of his first term at school and he is 4 and very tired. The first term at primary is whan kids have th highest amount of time off.
My DD is 13 and she was of ill all last week with very very bad diarrhoea and sickness, then today she is coughing like a drain and I really should of left her home, but for the amount of homework to catch up with

Oh we've been the same in one week and off the next dd is also 4. I think it's pretty much unavoidable atm. It is annoying when they're right as rain most of the day apart from when they're not iyswim. DD is off again today but that's because the school central heating has a leak and the engineers can't find where it's coming from so we've been told we'll have to keep listening to local radio next week in case it's closed again.

Not got many ideas, just wanted to say that I could have posted that myself last year when eldest manky was in YR. He was off more often than in, picked up everything despite rest/vitamins/good diet. He passed it round the rest too. I think some kids are just prone to stuff, at least that's what the doctor said. On the plus side, since starting Y1 in September he has only been off two days (probably jinxed myself though)
Hope he feels better soon!

dd1 has been off for more or less a month with measles, then thrush and now a respiratory infection and she's 4 as well.

there's not much you can do about it apart from try not to catch anything yourself!

Unlike me with no voice today!

Same here too Colditz

I don't know if those little vitamin bears help, (from Boots) but have been giving them on and off for a while, stupidly not for the last month or two and Ds has been off wayyyy too often! One thing after another.

Same age as yourn too x

The first term at school is really really hard. Probably the only thing that is going to perk him up at this point is a good rest over Christmas. Just get him to bed early and give him a bit of TLC and be reassured that next year he will be better able to cope.

Has he got long to go on the AB's? Plenty of yoghurt to protect his stomach will help too.
