dd just did her end-of-term play and it was was lovely and she had gained so much confidence from it, it really was fab. dh was so impressed by it, and what a positive effect it has had on her in so many ways.

thought I'd share that in case anyone thinking of maybe joining!

aww , which one does she go to ? Looking for something similar for ds in the area but preferably with backstage type activities rather than purely focussing on performance. Had thought of doing free trial session for the new class in O but not sure it is right for ds and may put him off!

R on Wed after school

they do some backstage stuff and dd had a lot of input into her lines - she is not a confident person in crowds and was so amazed at what she accomplished!

did she do the younger one? looking for a drama class for dd1

nutcracker · 05/12/2007 21:58

Oh my 2 dd's wuld love to go to Stagecoach, but it is too pricey.

I'm yet to find a drama class that isn't.

dinny · 05/12/2007 22:01

yes, she is 5 and a half and doe the Early Years one.

it is pricey but our brance let you pay in 3 instalments per term which does help!

My ds did it for a year, I thought some of the teachers were too 'strict'. It's probably better for girls than bouncy boys I suppose.

nutcracker · 05/12/2007 22:07

OMG, just checked to see how much it was as I couldn't remember, and the nearest one to me is £305 a term.

dinny · 05/12/2007 22:09

Nutcracker, fortunately dd is still under 7 so it's half that. God knows what will do if ds keen!

Cornsilk - there are 8 boys and 4 girls in dd's class. Teacher doesn't seem strict though!

On behalf of whoever runs your dd's school, thank-you.

I'm sitting here stressing about our performances this weekend and you have just reminded me why I do this.

dinny · 05/12/2007 22:38

ah, do you run classes, IOS? ours are in Redhill...now you know who!

My husband does. I do all the admin, sorting costumes, props, making sure everyone has what they need etc etc etc etc. Dh in the middle of writing reports as we speak.

dinny · 05/12/2007 22:43

should add, then, how lovely it was ro receive a report that seemed to actually know and understand dd very thoroughly!

Yes, no statement banks for us!!!!!!!!

dinny · 05/12/2007 22:59

dd is so taken with her Early Stage teacher. the teacher bought them all Jacks and dd is obsessed because "X still like playing with them ALL the time!"

really nice - dh and I agreed will deffo keep her going despite the cost as it is SO amazing for confidence for a bit of a shy little one.

I was thinking of this for dd - have sent an email to stagecoach 2 weeks ago and they haven't got in touch yet.

Can you try it for a couple of weeks before committing normally?

islandofsodor · 07/12/2007 11:31

Email again stripey, this time of year everyone is up to their necks on end of term presentations but in answer to your question, yes, you can just pay a deposit at first which covers 2 sessions. You can decide at the end of the 2 weeks whether your dd carries on or not.
