Ofsted?

I was pulled to one side by my sons reception teacher this afternoon and he asked if it was ok to keep his workbook for Ofsted instead of bringing it home - he said I can have it overnight tomorrow to look at, which is fine with me.
My question is however, what do they need it for? My son has had behavioural issues this year, possible asd/adhd, he is under SEN and has speech therapy.. I just presumed for Ofsted they would want work from a high achieving child? I suppose I'm just curious!
Thanks in advance ☺️

Ofsted will look at the class as a whole but also look at samples of work books that are high attainers and also lower attainers. In some respects it is a compliment because he is clearly seeing the work in your son's book as showing real improvement which is what he wants to show Ofsted and what they will be looking for. If they are expecting a visit in the Autumn term they will want to keep samples of this years books as they will only have limited work available to show in the Autumn term
