I am doing my level 5 in social care but first I have to do a maths course.. it's painful to say the least.

A few of the questions am struggling with is as followed..

220 students were surveyed on their favourite movie genre and snack. The results were compiled in the following two-way table. What is the probability of preferring comedy movies and popcorn? Round your answer to three decimal places.

Employees were given a survey following their first four years in work after leaving school. The survey was to establish how many were able to own their own home. The results were complied in the following two way table.
What is the probability of an employee in year 2 of work owning their own home? Round your answer to three decimal places.

Any help would be amazing

Sorry, I'm not untirely sure what kind of help you are looking for, but rule no.1 with maths - Don't panic.

Probability is a proportion of 'things' out of possible 'things'.
So, probability of [comedy and popcorn] is a group of 220 who chose comedy with popcorn (C+P)/220.

This is the second thread I have seen from you asking for help on your maths module. I would suggest if you really don't understand the concepts then go and ask you tutor to explain them to you. Getting other people to answer your questions is not helping your learning.

What 'level' of maths is this meant to be equivalent to?
I'd get yourself a GCSE foundation level maths guide to refer to.
Then corbettmaths online might help too.

What NewVariable said is correct, but without knowing more of where you are stuck we can't teach you the whole of probability and rounding online very easily.

Did you not like the answer you were getting on your other thread? Confused

www.khanacademy.org/math/statistics-probability/analyzing-categorical-data

Have a look at explanations here. It takes time to understand, but you'll get there

Its 26/220=0.118
