Ideas for evening PTA fundraisers

Does anyone have any good, original ideas for a sociable, fun, evening fundraiser for parents. In the past we've had promises auctions, quiz nights, but now trying to come up with something a bit different. Has anyone ever run a casino night or something similar? Any ideas gratefully received!

Beetle drive, Bingo, China party, Fashion show

Our school recently had a Race Night (compere comes and does the races over video thing, the punters turn up, having bought a ticket,(includes chicken & chips supper, bring own drinks), then they can all bet on races. Not much organisation, but makes quite a bit of money.

we recently had a 'body shop at home' (but for home read school) party - we all paid three quid for a ticket and got a glass of wine and nibbles, bought some body shop stuff and made quite a nice few £££ for the school.

casino night ? surely a school would have a fit if you suggested gambling - probably not allowed anyway !

Chocolate bingo ie no money prizes.

pamper night? Get your nails done, facials, that kind of thing.

Christmas Shopping Evening - too late for this year. Went to one that had Phoenix Cards, handmade jewellery, china, seasonal fabric/table runners/cushions etc, candles, chocolate and chutney. And they charged £2.50 per ticket and provided a glass of mulled wine. It was really good fun.

All the stallholders give 10% of their takings.

Could you do a school-based murder mystery evening? Charge a ticket price to include a hot but easy dinner, curry & rice, shepherds pie, apple crumble etc and bring your own wine if PTA don't want bother of drink licence and/or overcharging everyone.

I've just thought of that. Will suggest to my schools PTA on Monday!

what is a beetle drive?

Last year we had an indulgence evening and it was fab. All treatment were £5 and you could have as many as you wanted. Already booked the next one in my diary (not that there is anything else in it!!)

We just had Ladies' Eve - similar to Christmas shopping night. Loads of stalls, bar, nibbles. We charge £5 a ticket and for that you get a glass of wine and some raffle tickets.

Tis a good night!

We've also done wine tasting evening, St Patrick's Ceilidh, car boot sale.

I fancy the beetle drive - takes me back to Brownies!!

We are looking to arrange one for our local sport group

just get a gobby perosn to do tithemsleves
relaly all you need to do is auciton off horses and watch a video or two

My children's school does a quiz night. And an auction of promises.

We've just had a very successful ladies-only fashion show.
We also do family bingo nights which are very popular.
