To anyone doing an nvq level 2 apprenticeship in early years

Hi everyone.
I'm looking for advice from anyone who is or has done an nvq level 2 in early years.
I have a daughter who is nearly 2 and it is important that I get to spend some one on one time with her.
What I'm wondering is how hard you found it?
How much written work was there and how much time did you put aside outside of work to do the course?
I get overwhelmed easily which is very frustrating.
I probably have/will have more questions but I can't think of anymore right now

I've done several level 2 courses. I'm a quick reader and can get one done in about six weeks. (done three this year) Generally they reckon you should allow 6 hours a week I think. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. It's an apprenticeship so I'm unable to get through it quickly. I did a level 3 teaching assistant course before but that was all online and I did find it kind of tough doing it around looking after my daughter.

I also have adhd, autism and mental health difficulties so I suppose that doesn't help the matter

Depends on your level of education I think? And how long you’ve been out of education? I’m educated to post grad, and have essentially never really gone more than six months without some sort of studying. I could get a level 2 done in about six weeks, maybe a bit quicker, same as poster above and it’s not much written work at all (for me). But if you’ve been out of education you’d probably find it harder and it would take longer.

Are you thinking distance learning or college?

I absolutely think you’d still have plenty of time to spend with your daughter.

Sorry, cross posted! Right if it’s an apprenticeship you’ll have working days and study days and then some work to do on top, but if you plan well it should be totally doable. You’ll get support from work AND your apprenticeship provider to help you get it done, and maybe even time in work to do it.

Work haven't mentioned anything about doing it in work time. I can realistically put aside Saturday morning to do the work but I still want to spend time with my daughter. Otherwise I'd be working 10 hour shifts including breaks between 7.30 and 6pm 4 days a week. It's making me nervous as I haven't worked in so long x
