Anyone who has first hand experience will be so so welcome to share .
I personally has country life phobia and scared of driving on country road .
But acs Surrey is a great school.

How about ASL ?
Thanks

ACS is like right on the A30 isn't it? Hardly a country road!

You cannot seriously choose a school based on your driving abilities.

Anyone ?

Why would you need to drive on country roads to get to ACS? Unless you already live in the country which I'm guessing you don't? Hmm

OP has been asking lots of questions about Rowans/Squirrels/Donhead on these boards so suspect is somewhere in zone 3-4 SW London?

Okkkk · 12/05/2021 19:44

I live in Ewell.

I don't know acs but I do have a child at asl. Happy to answer questions.

titchy · 12/05/2021 20:35

Esher to ACS is a piece of piss down a wide straight road! Not a country lane to be seen!

Trickleg · 12/05/2021 20:41

OP maybe if you say a bit more about what you are after and what your child is like (and their age!) you might get a bit more help? PS Ewell is lovely

ASL used to be very difficult to get into more academic. They could be selective. Lots of Americans used work with would try to get their kids in when transferring to the UK but wanted to live in central London, Heard lots of positives about ACS and better sports / outdoor space. Guess it depends if you want city urban life vs commuter town. I believe ACS bus in from quite far into SW London or at least they did pre pandemic.

Thanks . Esher mum .
ASL location beats ACS location for me for many reasons including convenience, burglary crime rates , flat vs house . Cosmopolitan. Myself feel lonely and depressed if living in there .
But that’s for me as a parent . I can cope & adjust .
For kid, I wonder how they feel about acs v Asl .

Oh my goodness, have you been to the Esher/Cobham area? It’s a great place to live...very safe, lovely houses, great town centres with restaurants and boutique shops. The crime rates are much less than central
London and you would definitely get more house for your money than in St John’s wood. Lots of kids live in cobham and walk or cycle to ACS. There is a thriving community and plenty of sports clubs for kids to join...it’s also very international due to the presence of the ACS. My social life has definitely picked up since we moved down the A3 and out of central london....
