Cheshire / Stockport independant schools (primary)?

I initially wrote thus on primary but I thoight putting it here may get more response. Does any one have snh fairly recent knowkedge of local independant prep schools and juniors?

We are looking for a school for dd. I have been accepted to one but with a cooling off period and I am getting cold feet. They have recently changed head (it seems many schools locally have recently done so). I am also concerned about a lack of local friends as it is a bit of a drive out, is this an issue at this age? I have also found out I am pregnant again which again might make the journey more difficult. We are in the Alderley Edge area.

We want a school that is aspirational for its pupils and is fairly academic so that it keeps Dds options open for secondary as we may go down the boarding route but are undecided, she is bright now (but that could change) so I want a school that builds on that and aims high, then we will decide on the secondary based on other factors and her peferences. We may move to london in a few years also and would like her to not need extra prepping for 7+ ideally so I want a school with similar academic standards to competative london preps. We also want somewhere that builds confidence as that is just as important as academics I feel.

We liked the Ryleys but is it academic and equally girl focused now it is co-ed? What about King's in Macclesfield? What about Ladybarn House? I notice ladybarn has had fewer successful applications to Withington and other top local independants the last few years? Has the teaching or intake changed? Then there is Pownall Hall?
Info on any local schools is welcome thank you!

Hard to comment unless you give more info on where you live tbh. If you live in Stockport, I'd just use Stockport grammar. It's impossible really to tell how academic a 3 year old may turn out to be.

Ladybarn house is very good but depends what you want.

Argh missed that. I'd personally just pick one there. Plenty of choice nearby and a chance of local friends etc
