Does anyone know much about these? Suspect we're likely to end up in West Bridgford and as far as ensuring the kids leave reasonably literate St Edmund Campion looks o.k. but anyone got any inside gen?

Also the private schools- St Joseph's, Dagfa, Hollygirt etc?

TIA

If you're in WB, I would have thought most schools would be above average. Jessie Grey is the school with the best reputation as far as I'm aware - but my knowledge is sketchy! Couldn't comment on the privates. Depending on how long you're in WB for, you might want to think about catchments for the secondaries. WB has slightly better reputation than Rushcliffe although the latter is on its way up at the mo. HTH

cheers Rowlers, knowing DH we'll be off again before she's finished KS1!

Asking about privates 'cos i suspect we're going to miss cut-off dates for state school applications.

WB not set in stone, but seems to be the most recommende location and house prices look reasonable (also near work) so any other opinions gratefully received!

WB def one of the nicer areas in Notts (if not the nicest - i've been here 5 years), in all aspects. House prices here higher than most other areas in Notts but if you're coming from the South or another highly priced area, won't seem so bad. baby wriggling so not got time now but fell free to ask about anything else WB / Notts related. I'm pretty clued up!! Cat me too if you like. Good luck with your move!

Like Rowlers, I would have thought most primaries in WB should be fine - Jesse Gray, Heymann etc (I went to Jesse Gray myself - although some time ago now...).
Don't know St Edmund Campion personally, sorry (whereabouts is it?)

Rowlers · 28/10/2004 17:20

How thick am I?
St Edmund Campion is at the end of my road (well, just round the corner) and yes, it is a very good school. Very good reputation. Neighbours send children there and are very pleased. Here nothing but good reports. Duh...

hewlettsdaughter · 28/10/2004 17:23

So where in WB are you Rowlers? (if you don't mind revealing?)

Rowlers · 28/10/2004 17:28

Have just CATed you HD! Don't mind you knowing but don't really want to post my address on here! Just being cautious, got nothing to hide...

Hi, I went to The Becket secondary school in WB which has a very good reputation. A lot of my friends had come from the St Edmund Campion primary school did nothing but rave about it HTH

thanks-reassuring that your friends are happy Rowlers!

Nice to know that state schools are an option if we manage to move in time. Although it's taken about 6 months to getb to this point!
