Accepting offers from two 6th forms

Hi my ds in yr11 is in the process of applying to do A levels at 6th form.
There are 2 potential options, we have just posted the application form for his preferred choice.
He has just received an offer from his second choice. It says we have 14 days to accept or decline the offer.
I'm reasonably confident he will also get an offer from his first choice and was hoping we could hold both offers until gcse results are out in August and then make the final decision.

Am i overthinking it, do most students accept more than one and decide much later?

Yes, accept them both.
6th form applications don't have a 'process' like the way the LAs organise Reception and then secondary intake. It is every man for themselves.
The schools will know that lots of pupils will hold on to multiple offers and are ready on results day for a lot of shuffling around.

Yes most students hold onto more than one offer for sixth forms and make a firm decision once GCSE results are out.
It is a good idea to have a back-up offer as otherwise your ds could have the stress of having to make last minute applications.
