I've just been to my son's y2 parent evening.
All last year I was told he was bright, but inattentive and didn't participate in lessons.
The new teacher appears to have a different (much more accurate opinion in my view LOL). She is happy that he participates, concentrates and sets an excellent example to others in his behaviour, but she feels the class doesn't have other children of similar ability for him to interact with, or in her words "bounce his fantastic ideas off"..
The school will introduce workshops after half term, with the brightest from the other Y2 class, so they are trying, but numbers are still limited.
I made a point of sending him to the local school, rather than out of catchment to a more middle class area, as I felt it was important to mix with all sorts, but I'm now doubting that decision. Any views? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with this info.
