Exeat / short leave / weekend leave : what’s your boarding school’s position?

DC’s school hasn’t told us yet. Wondering if any boarding schools have made a decision one way or the other about cancelling exeat weekends between now and the end of term.

I’d like to see ds but worry that dispersing more than a thousand kids all over the country then bringing them back to school isn’t the best thing with covid rampant.

I take it back. All year 7-11 have been sent home for 2 weeks due to positive cases in boarding house. My dd is not affected

Exeats cancelled at both schools but they can come home if we want.

Saturday school still on for the cancelled Exeat weekends but one school is doing less lessons and only revision so the ones that go home don’t miss anything. I think the majority are staying in.

The other school has lots of people who go home at the weekend anyway and they are being encouraged not to and I am not sure if many will stay.

Both are finishing a bit earlier than planned for Christmas so 6 weeks away. It is a long time 😕. We may pop up to see them for the last weekend if lock down has relaxed a bit.
