NSPCC at it again

After James Makings and then the age verification / pornhub scandal the NSPCC are tweeting this nonsense: "Consent means actively saying yes, using both words and body language. You shpould explain to your child that they should always check to ensure the other person is happy to have sex or take part in a sexual activity of any kind." Safe Schools have raised the matter on twitter: twitter.com/SafeSchools_UK/status/1285868833891377152

The concerns Safe Schools raised in the twitter thread are all "But it doesn't protect against grooming!", while the actual advice above is "Hey parents, teach your kids not to force sexual behaviour on anyone who says no". It's completely opposite directions.

What am I missing?

It is a criminal offence for an adult to ask a child to engage in sexual activity. It is a criminal offence for a child to ask another child to engage in sexual activity. There is nothing complicated about that.

i don't quite understand.
but reading that nspcc thing, i was taken aback by talking of, your child, and then referring to sexual activity.
do they mean as in general sex education, like for when they are of age, to inculcate that any activity must be consensual.
it sounds muddled. and somewhat alarming.

Thank you for posting OP.

It is horrendous and at first I was thinking well what is it about and now I totally get how horrific it is.

It just shows how very important clear language is.
