Wonder if anyone has DDs in a GDST at the moment and could give us any feedback. DD is due to start in the juniors in Sept and we are waiting for confirmation on what will be happening . Have they been able to accept more year groups back or are they sticking with the allocates year groups? TIA

I don't know about these schools specifically but the independent schools I know are expecting to take all pupils full time, using every inch of space to do so. I work in one and we will get everybody back but with considerable change.

My DD (Reception) was back to school already. All the other years will back in phases. In my DD's class, there are 2 teachers and 6 children at the moment. Their classroom is extended into another room used to be a waiting room so the classroom is huge. The teachers said they could potentially fit 24 desks in the room following the 2m rule.

My DD is very happy that she has her own labelled everything, eg table, desk, stationeries, books etc. Music classes, dancing, PE, etc as usual children are on marked coloured individual spots( seen pictures on Tapestry).

We are very happy with their in school provision. They managed to continue/maintain their online provision, offering guided creative writing, reading, google meet, French... I am impressed. Smile

Thank you so much . We are a bit anxious as is obviously a change if school for DD and we are not sure what induction activities will be on offer but sounds like they have been handling it very smoothly

A very upbeat article in the Telegraph from Wimbledon High's head about their covid arrangements, they are keen to get everyone back for those not wanting to click. They are also finding positives from the experience:

"Nobody wanted this to happen but now that it has I am optimistic that it might help forge a new generation of independent and resilient learners".
