My child is in year 7 at school, they have always found maths hard. We have tried over the years to give extra help at home, tutors etc.
I was wondering if anybody has any ideas of how best to help them, any books, apps etc.
Thanks in advance

There are a lot of great maths sites, and you tube channels. But I think first step is speak to the teacher and find out what is the problem. If the school uses any online sites, find out how to utilize them. They normally have tutorial videos as well as practice questions. And if it's like my dc school, they let parents access it.
How did they do in yr6 sats? Do they need to go over primary basics? Or just finding secondary maths hard?

Thank you for your reply. I think she finds it hard retaining the information, if they haven't done a certain area for a while she can't remember. She also gets really stressed when asked a question on the spot, even if it's as simple as the time, it makes her really anxious. She got 99 in her sats so not a pass but only 1 mark away as the pass was 100. I have tried calling the school but they never got back to me, we have parents evening in two weeks so I'm going to speak to them then

Yes, best thing you can do first is to speak to school. Next step, I maybe able to point to good website if you'd like, or if it doesn't help, I can point out some of the good teachers on MN who maybe able to help.
My dc had difficulty and it never was easy, and took years. But I believe you can help them in the long run if you persevere.

I found corbetmaths a life saver. Loads of helpful example vids! Good luck x
