So who is secretly (or not so secretly) feeling sick to their stomach about their 'baby' going to school next week?

OK how sad am I. DD1 won't be starting school till NEXT year but I've just got the school application pack through the post and am already welling up!

I don't want her to go to school either! (although I know she will absolutely love it)

Me - my big girl is off to secondayr school, and I feel as if I'm reallly going to lose her to the system now. No more dashing in and out of the classroom to drop off left behind PE kit - no more playground pick up. And her little brother is really sad that he'll be going to school alone for the first time. I'm welling up as I type!

flightattendant · 03/09/2007 14:44

Oh Cod! You make me laff.

I don't want my little man to turn into someone I don't know any more.

I like him little.

LaCod · 03/09/2007 14:45

oh fgs let him go and make mates
yours told me he cnat wait to get away

flightattendant · 03/09/2007 14:47

I think it's why I just had another baby. A replacement for my 4yr old excuse not to do anything with my life

So no free time for me next week!

OrmIrian · 03/09/2007 14:48

Mine's gone. No problem. No tears (even from me ). A brief momentary wobble when DS realised I wasn't coming with him. But fine.

Still thinks he's too little but there we are. I'm in a minority of one with that opinion

flightattendant · 03/09/2007 14:48

Coddy I will cry in a minute!

LaCod · 03/09/2007 14:49

DD starts Nursery next week, and I'm over the moon that I'm going to have 2.5 hours completely alone. Bliss. I'm sure I'll be upset when it's full time next year (mainly because I'll feel pressured to get a day time job. By myself, not Dh btw. We need the extra money)

DD's going to have a fab time. I'm far too slack to do all the nice things she'll do in Nursery.

flightattendant · 03/09/2007 14:54

Oh alright then. I believe you

TigerFeet · 03/09/2007 15:37

I am counting the days until dd starts school next year (approx 365 I reckon)

I will be able to cut work hours as there will be no childcare costs if I get school hours (half my salary goes on nursery costs)

Bliss

I will probably still wimper slightly at the school gate though [wet]

Surfermum · 04/09/2007 20:26

Me. But only because I am going to have to get up and be out of the house by 8.30 every morning for the first time in nearly 5 years.

Other than that I can't wait. My house might be clean again and I might even get to go swimming and get fit again .

BBBee · 04/09/2007 20:36

oh dances - it is sad but it is also liberating in it's own way - for you both.

Hope it goes well.

(I went to the post office today - can you hear her coming?)
