completing registration and assessment application form for independent school for ds1...

there is an area for 'further information' designed to enable them to assess the application

ds1 is 2.3yo - can i assume i don't need to fill this in, and that it is included only for older children's applications?

(otherwise what would i write? "enjoys playing with snails and tormenting newborn sibling. shows promise in the field of tantrumming")

Those forms always seem to have way more ections than you need. I guess if a language other English is spoken at home you might meniton it here unless there is another space for the info. But certainly we've left lots of blank spaces and both dcs got in.

You could mention his sibling(s). They might like it if they see more £££ in the offing ! Agree mention anything relevant not covered elsewhere SN, ESL etc

oh and of course if you are loaded and plan on making regular donations or will pay full fees up front

thanks

assume not necessary then

we recently moved out of london - there we prob would have had to include "father plays rugby for england" to get a place

hopefully here it will be easier...

Eeek. We never had to fill in anything like these forms when we did it.

I would assume furtjher information would be any info you have about special needs, ESL,G&T (perhaps via nursery if they assess???). Would imagine you can leave blank if nothing else like this though.

My favourite question on one of these forms was about the child's interests - DS1 also aged just 2 at that point.

It was a pretentious school so we claimed that DS1 had an enthusastic and active interest in the world around him.... I think this would cover your son's hobbies!

Shows much promise on the potty?
May later become a leader in the combined cadet force as he climbs down from his cot with great skill?

Perhaps it really means things like
bilingual household
Father is a past pupil
parents divorced or separated

I recently had to fill out similar such forms for DS2 for senior school. A general form, a medical form, a sports and interests form and a music form. On the music form I had to just keep writing not applicable as he is not musical, plays no instrument and does not sing in a choir. In the box marked Comment to the Director of Music I wrote I bet you can scarcely wait for XXXXXX to join in September!

Perhaps it is a test by the school to see how pushy and ghastly the parents are?
