We live in Bucks but willing to move so potentially Bucks Oxford Herts can all be considered.
I really like Abingdon Prep for its all rounded-ness and still strong in academic. But hesitant about it being boys only.
Any advice gratefully received!x

Sorry I should say it’s a point I follow as we are not sure where ours will go afterwards, and there is certainly no one destination(s) and each year is quite different.

Thank you! I will need some time to decide about senior school options so wasn’t sure if Swanbourne would support non boarding options. Seems lots of attentions are put on pre test for boarding schools.

Chandlings is a great all round school, my ds & dd have both loved their time there. They love all the activities and the academics are brilliant. It's definitely worth a look!

Huge changes at Swanbourne. Many staff and families left in last year, especially from prep. Be sure to do lots of research!!

We have a son at Abingdon prep and I wish we'd gone with St. Hugh's. APS trades on the reputation of the senior school and folks wanting to get the automatic transfer. I've found the pastoral care fairly iffy and it's not a particularly kind school. The boys are very competitive and sportsmanship is poor. Lots of blaming losses on the weaker players etc. If it didn't have the attached senior school not many would still be there. I'd go for choosing a solid standalone prep.
