Looking for non-selective independent school in Surrey/ Hampshire

We are looking for a non-selective independent school in Surrey or Hampshire, ideally not too far from the M3, for our nearly 9 year old DS who is currently in year 4 at a good state primary in London.
He has an ASD diagnosis but not severe enough to get an EHCP. His teacher/ SENCO said that he performs just below average. He is a sociable kid and copes ok in mainstream but we feel he drowns in the huge classes at state schools and would easily fall behind, especially as he gets older.
We are looking for small class sizes, great pastoral care and ideally somewhere he could stay at until at least GCSEs.
For work reasons we would need to be located somewhere near the M3 with good access to London by train. I have already heard of More House which sounds great but would like to look at a wider range of options.
We would also consider SW London.
Any advice? Thanks a lot

Having just bumped in to an aquaintance yesterday, she could not speak more highly of More House for her DS - started year 4 and continued on to GCSEs.

Another to consider Clare court near Maidenhead. Might be outside your search area

Different but Knowl Hill near Woking was suggested for us be we didn’t look at it

Lord Wandsworth?

I drove past Chichester free school the other day - goes from 4-18 I think, it’s not fee paying and they have small class sizes and aren’t state.
I was really tempted for DS but I just couldn’t get him there and myself to work!

I’d take a look at Box Hill school - very supportive environment.

Thanks all and apologies for not checking in sooner - on holidays at the moment with very patchy internet access. Lots to check out

How about Brookham?

TheletterZ · 14/04/2019 08:33

For primary: Sherfield, Yately Manor, St Neots, Cheam.

For secondary my kids are at Lord Wandsworth and very happy, good mix of children, they are slightly selective but not hugely.

St James in Ashford, Surrey.my son is there and they are very good with SEN and mainstream. Excellent ethos and in my view boys achieve their potential if not more.

Have a look at Holme Grange in Wokingham

Have a look at LVS Ascot, non selective, 10 mins from m3, co-ed, boarding or day. Great results, good local reputation. My daughter is due to start soon and I have been most impressed by the Junior school (it goes through to 18).
