Hello, we are looking for options to move further out for more space and greenery.. Can anyone recommend the best places preferably North West, West or south west with excellent schooling and easy commute to London?

I am totally confused and would love some advice from parents.

In London or outside London? We used to be in Pimlico, but moved out to Clapham, and we are super happy here! It's still London though so not sure if it's what you're looking for.

Richmond! But it depends on your budget and how old your children are.

Chiswick, Kew, Richmond, Gerrards Cross, Amersham, Chorleywood, Brookmans Park, Berkhamsted, St Albans - so many places but budget will matter!

Northfields in Ealing, we moved here from Shepherds Bush for all the reasons you state and love it.

South west London for lower crime and better schools. No question. Lower population density too.

We're in Sutton (zone 5 in SW London) and it's amazing for families, space and greenery.

Countryside to the south and direct trains to Victoria, London Bridge, Blackfriars, Kings Cross etc. State schools are amongst heighest attaining in the country + there are 5 grammar schools. There are also a few nice preps with great facilities and fees considerably lower than some other areas + one senior school and bus routes to a good selection of other schools.

It's also relatively affordable with large houses with big gardens available for under 1M and for 1.5-2M+ you could have a tennis court in the back garden. The areas most worth looking at are South Sutton, Cheam and Carshalton Beeches.

The only drawback is the uninspiring Sutton High Street but teenagers will enjoy Primark, H&M etc. ;)

You might find it useful to post in the London topic as well.

What age DC do you have? What sorts of things do you like in a school? Are you considering state or private or both?

How much is your housing budget, and what sort of property do you want / would you settle for? Which part of London do you need to commute to?

I would second Sutton/Cheam/Belmont/Banstead - suburban family areas with good links to London and a brilliant choice of schools, both selective and not. Close to countryside and lots of parks too.
