We are relocating and looking at above schools for Dc age 7.

Some flexi boarding would be good.

Dc quite sporty and enjoys equestrian activities etc.

We would be grateful to hear of any experience of these schools.

Many thanks

Well AB has the equestrian centre on site but overall DCPS probably does more team sport and is good at supporting kids who compete in non-traditional sports outside school. Both relatively small, DCPS possibly seen as slightly more academic. Has strong links to the senior school but is a few miles from it. TBH I’d visit both and see which you prefer.

Friends have just pulled their two girls from Denstone after appalling bullying.

Really cold Sad

That's awful was it not dealt with appropriately?

If I'm completely honest on reading the basic prospectus I'm edging towards AH as perhaps the most suitable setting on paper.

Of course this is without any visits.

We are hoping to visit both schools this week.

I went for a job interview at Abbotsholme several years ago and liked their style. Agree didn't feel the most academic of places and there was something about a parent complaining about exam results a while ago but I can remember reading about it and thinking it was stupid. Very nice little yard on the equestrian centre, very 'normal' if you know what I mean.

Thanks Heyha

I saw something re that when I googled Shock

Dc average at this stage academically and Looking really just for a great friendly setting with nurturing pastoral care and definitely co Ed.

Many thanks

AH will be very different now its been bought by Chinese investors so I'd tread carefully. What it was like a year ago is not what its like now. They will want a profit.

Denstone is not for profit, but yes it was well known for having a bit of a bullying problem. I'd ask about that a lot when you visit, but if I had to choose, and they gave the right sort of answers re the bullying and how they would handle into, I'd go for them myself.

Thanks Chip

Interesting

Got a huge list of questions and will certainly be asking what you suggest
