Worth the move to St Christopher's lechworth

Hi, we have had a bit of a rocky road this year for the kids with regards their schooling and i am looking all over to see what schools offer a more gentle, holistic approach to education.
I need somewhere that goes from 3-18 co ed with good SEN provision.
We are currently in surrey but happy(ish) to move whereever the RIGHT school is.

St Christophers looks too good to be true (though hubby is concerned that the areas surround letchworth are not good)

what do people who go there, been there etc think?

Thanks

Letchworth is alright. Hitchin is nice, some nice villages around so don’t right of the area. Only know st Chris by reputation.
In Surrey you also have Frensham, Box Hill Senior only and depending where you are there is London Acorn.
Ardinley used to be good for SEN but don’t know now.
The Royal schools may also be with a look. Haslemere, not alternative

If you are looking all over Bedes near Eastbourne maybe worth a look. Non selective, supposed to be good for SEN Nd individual approach
Also Claire’s Court neat Maidenhead.

I would not, although Letchworth is a nice place to live. IME they were very unwelcoming to our DD with SEN when we went to look around. However, I have heard other parents already in the school be positive - so possibly worth a visit. I wonder if they are moving away from supporting children with SEN as they seem to limit numbers now for the secondary school...

I would look at Sherrardswood in Welwyn - not as fancy in terms of the facilities but much more welcoming.

Thought of another if you are open to moving. New Forest Small School coed through to16

Sherrardswood's website is not very informative.

i have looked at the new forest small school but wonder if it is not 'quite enough'. Seems like they have no science lab etc. maybe the facilities are lacking?

We had a trial day at Frensham and neither us nor our kids were impressed.

st chris seems to tick all our boxes but i am just unsure of teh area.
obviously we will need to go and have a good look around but just wanted some thoughts.

thanks

Leighton Park in Reading? I must say I don’t know anything specific about the school but other Quaker schools I know of offer a similar style of education to what you describe. There are a few dotted around the country but I think LP is the only Quaker school in the SE.

St Chris runs a coach and the boys I know all come from Essendon, Hadley Wood, Brookmans Park etc. So you might possibly want to consider slightly further afield.

I have no direct connections to the school but know a few of the current mums and not heard of any regrets from the ones we know. Actually, quite a few "should've done it sooner".
