Is this street ideally located for primary schools in Barnet?

Hello everyone!

My partner and I are thinking of moving into New Barnet, Gloucester Road, London, EN5. We are unsure on whether its location is ideal for being accepted in the local State primary schools.

Barnet seems to have a very good reputation for primary schools, but I noticed that Gloucester road is within the catchment area of only one school, Cromer Road Primary, which is vastly oversubscribed. Whereas more central streets in Chipping Barnet are within the catchment area of more than one school.

If our child was refused admission to Cromer road, does it mean that he would probably have to travel to the nearest available primary, such as over 1 mile away, e.g. Bruswick Park Primary?

We want to make sure that our move in Barnet will actually equate to access to better school at a walking distance, hence our concern. We thought of moving closer to High Barnet but we are put off by noise and excessive traffic.

Does being closer to a school actually make more likely to be accepted in that school?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

You should also think of secondary schools, that part of Barnet is a bit of a black hole and your nearest would probably be Totteridge Academy, which is on the up so might be perfectly fine but has not had good rep in the past. You may also be in the catchment for East Barnet school

Yes you would be put in a school that you met the criteria for if you didn't get into Cromer Road

Would you be in the catchment for Danegrove as well?
