Please recommend a good geometry book

My DS is in Y7 and Maths isn't his strongest subject (mine either). Yesterday he showed me a question in finding some angles and areas and for me it is like starting all over again. I hardly remember anything from school. He doesn't bring any workbooks home from school so if he doesn't understand a task that's either us, the parents or a book/Internet. Perhaps someone can suggest a good geometry workbook for KS3 or a website? I would appreciate your suggestions really much. Thank you.

I wonder if KS3 Maths Complete Study and Practice would cover lots of questions. It looks like a good study book.

I would go for a general KS3 maths book e.g. CGP. There doesn't seem much benefit in getting a 'geometry' book per se as (a) the amount of geometry in the curriculum is small and (b) you'll probably come across other topics you can't do anyway.

So yes, the one you mention, (which I don't know), sounds appropriate.

Thanks Teen. Have ordered it. Look Inside of the book on amazon looks good.

We used either the Letts or CGP revision guides, but I think so long as it explains things in the way you can understand and covers the KS3 curriculum, it's the right book.
We also used Khan Academy. You can use it as a teaching programme, but we just used it to dip into. If there was a topic dd was struggling with, it has some good videos which make thing clearer.
To learn maths, he needs to do questions, not just read it. So doing the worked examples and questions in the book is important. Also, rather than spending lots of time on topics he is not understanding, leave it and come back to it next day. The subconscious works on maths and so it seems easier when you return to it.

JustRichmal, thank you. The books have arrived and hopefully they will be used. Khan Academy is great but my DS is not going to use it yet. He is at a stubborn age/stage. I don't need it, I know it, it's boring etc.
