Broadhurst and Ready Steady Go

Hello - interested in any views on Broadhurst and Ready Steady Go from parents whose kids are currently (or have recently been) there.

We were initially thinking of Broadhurst as a logical choice because of its reputed preparation for the North London school assessments (our older daughter goes to NLCS, and it would be easiest if the younger one does too). We've noted some parents' concerns with reputation / academics in light of recent changes in staff though, but hearsay and so interested in any actual experiences.

Have a child there currently - it’s been a wonderful experience. Highly recommend it. Have not felt any pressure whatsoever. All the teachers have been just lovely. My kid loves them all.

Also the new Head has settled in well and is extremely supportive and involved with parents and students

I had a neighbour whose three sons were very happy at Broadhurst all went to the Hall afterwards. We have another friend whose daughter is at Broadhurst the daughter got into a great school but she didn't have a lot of fun, seemed a bit stressed, and the parents regret sending their kid there. But who knows-- it could just be a function of different kid's personalities.

I think it depends on outlook. When I visited Broadhurst, there were no red flags far from it but it seemed more structured / less fun than I wanted. But we got a place so early when our child was below 3 months old so it was a bit awkward to pick a school before you even know what type of person our

Whereas RSG, where we send/sent our kids, is organised chaos in some ways they absolutely teach to a curriculum, but it is hidden in the guise of structured play. RSG gets children into great schools South Hampstead, Arnold House, St Christophers, the Hall-- but without drilling kids too much. It is a very happy group of kids. But I have met some parents who would have wanted a more structured approach to the academics.
