Hi all!
I am just wondering if when a child is sitting their 11+ if they are given a sheet of paper or any space to do their working out in maths paper. Or are they expected to work it all out in their head?
TIA

There is space on the paper for workings. They should show their workings out as much as possible.

Thank you! My DD who will be taking her 11+ this year was fretting about it!

I think it depends on the type of 11+ exam you are sitting?
Some will give you a sheet of paper to do your working out on and won't allow you to write on the answer sheet (multiple choice). Whilst others expect you to show your working out and there will space on the sheet on which to do that.

it depends.
In our area (glos) as far as I know they are expected to write it on the question paper. (in the margins etc)
The most important thing is not to write on the answer sheet.
The questions are all mutiple choice so the working out is not marked or needed, it is just you can use that space.
If your child writes big, then I would encourage them to write much smaller and make good use of the space.

Thank you. We are CEM exams.
No DD writes small so she will be fine with that.
Thank you
