Hello,
We currently live in London and hoping to make the move to Guildford within in the next couple of months. We've researched and found some schools that we like and one of them is Holy Trinity Pewley Down - I would love to hear about your experience/opinions on the school.

Also any other info on other schools you like in the area and why, would be really helpful too!

Thank you! Smile

It is highly regarded in Guildford as one of the best state primaries. It (even by guildford's very middle class standards!) has a very good catchment of generally professional families. It is highly inclusive, friendly and fairly relaxed. After a poor ofsted a few years ago it really stepped things up and has a new head.
Most go onto George Abbot, St Peter's or County. A few to private schools including the super-selectives.
Look around - you have to be OK with first names for teachers and quite a unique ethos. It is also fairly big at three forms.

Some people love it, others hate it. Not sure how they have changed with Claire as head.

Thanks for your response! Smile

How does HTPD compare to Boxgrove or St. Thomas of Canterbury? Which do you prefer and why?

I'm booked in for their open days next month so I'll get a 'feel' of the schools, but it's always really helpful to get some input from parents! Thanks!

I have heard of a few unhappy Boxgrove parents recently as it expanded I think. But these are parents who otherwise had the option of private school so perhaps had very high expectations. It does generally have a good catchment and reputation. Great grounds with a swimming pool.

St T is highly regarded in the sense it is catholic and you get the usual 'package' of a catholic school - great behaviour, community, involved parents etc. but I'm not sure I'd go there as a non-catholic.
