"bum show" at school

I have to 'talk' to my son's teacher today as my son (7yrs) and another boy and girl have been encouraging each other to flash their bums then one of the boys went and told and now I have to have a chat with the teacher because this is a serious issue.

I can't see the seriousness - I know they need to learn not to do it but to instill fear of it being 'wrong'??

How do I approach this conversation with the teacher?

(no suggestions that I flash him my bum please - need more fake tan before I take that approach!)

I had similar last year with 5.5 years old ds. he is a natural born rugby player IFKWIM. The teacher wasn't that bothered, but the parent of the child he did it in fornt of was a bit OTT. Made me feel like he was going to grow up into a pervert...

took DD to a softplay centre for a birthday party a while back, her and her friend went to the toilet and after a couple of minutes I went and checked on them, her friend was in the cubicle bum out mooning, and my daughter pointing at her laughing,

Let us know what happened - interested in how they handled this.

My sis got called into school once as her ds,4, had broken a twig off a tree and weed on it.
Teacher said she had spoken to the whole class and instructed them to "work together and help J to be good".
Bonkers.

How was it DT? Did you tell the teacher you thought it was a bum rap?

DimpledThighs · 27/03/2007 18:53

well after all the late night tears and agony on mumsnet ds's teacher 'forgot' 'probably because he is busy with all the easter stuff mum' so all my psyching myself up was for nothing - had a good old laugh in the playground about it. I don't think we got away with it because he does want to see me before the end term to discuss things./ If ds wants more attention I will tell him to wee on a stick!

oooh dimpled...I had this last summer with my DD (was 4 then)she came home and said they had been playing the "fanny" game at school! I was shocked and did go in to the school. It turned out that the older children had been encoraging the younger ones to "flash" their bits, obviously the older ones found it funny, but it got to the point where DD was upset and wouldn't wear a skirt!! This I did find "serious"

I do think though, flashing bums and the such like is all part of growing up...as long as no one is harmed, or upset. You do have to be careful though I think.

I had to face a "serious" chat about how my ds, then 6, and two little pals had wee-ed in the compost bin in the school garden. A compost bin which contains cow dung. It was a very grave matter. Apparently.

DimpledThighs · 27/03/2007 19:18

weeing in the compost bin is probalbly very good ofr it. It is quite annoying everything being so policed.
