Hate Primary School

I hate our allocated primary school...we are on the waiting list for others but with only a few weeks to go before September it doesn't look good.
My main issues are:

  1. It gets poor results
  2. None of his friends from nursery are going to this school and the kids that are going are into things that I don't think are age appropriate (he likes Thomas the Tank Engine they like GTA).
  3. I think I'm quite liberal in my views but the school motto and ethos is "celebrating diversity" (no problem there I hear you say), but it is pushed so much it feels like a faith school.

Practically I know there is nothing we can do but wait. But Am I being ridiculous? Anyone else been allocated a faith type school against their wishes?

I think it's fantastic that the school celebrates a variety of faiths and diversity. I don't see why this is an issue? Your child doesn't have to believe in any particular faith but will be considerate and knowledgeable.

It will probably be a small handful playing GTA. It can impact playtimes and interactions negatively and you should flag issues as they arrive

I half get you. Our current school is very Catholic, they promote the viees of it daily but insist that they are very diverse when in comes to teaching religion, they say they teach different types and do not focus on just one, however I have yet to see any work done around the school or in homework or been told by my DD that she has been taught any other religious practices, only ever Catholic which we have asked them not to include our daughter in as we would much prefer to teach her about lots of different things and not get pushed into just one like at her current school (moving after summer due to many many other problems) so I understand that sometimes things are too much. The school she attends only has two class' one is her class of 15 kids p1-4 and another of 22 kids p5-7 that's it. That's the whole school. I know every kid there, they all have very different views from us, all have computers at age 6, very rude etc. They also do not have someone outside watching the kids at brake and lunch Which I think is just wrong! They have also refused to take my disabled son, saying they will not hire someone to help him or put in hand rails for him(I got it priced at £55!) And this is a public school not private. So if you have any problems with a school I advise you try everything to get them into the school you think will be the best for YOUR kids.
