Good games websites for a bright 5 year old?

My 5yr old son loves playing on the copmuter (although we do limit his use!). The only sites he really uses are nick junior, cbeebies and thomas and friends. He enjoys playing the games and is quite bright especially with his maths. Any good sites i cn get him onto?

Uptoten has lots of stuff.

Nockney · 10/03/2007 18:42

I really like Poisson Rouge . Beautiful, interesting, and very involving. Oh, and not associated with any tv.

Lego
Spark Island (free trial?)

www.starfall.com/

The 2nd one is American but great!

Gingerbear · 10/03/2007 22:51

DD adores poisson rouge.

Gingerbear · 10/03/2007 22:52

have you tried WebLand? I got a free trial CD, but it only works on Windows PCs, not my iMac.

Whizzz · 10/03/2007 22:56

Not online games but look for I-Spy games DS loves these \link{http://www.kidsclick.com/descrip/ispy_spooky.htm/here} they were selling titles in our Tesco for £2.97 the other week

Whizzz · 10/03/2007 22:56

here

brimfull · 10/03/2007 23:00

playmobile
I think poissonrouge is a bit young for a 5 yr old .

katelyle · 10/03/2007 23:08

Mine loves Club Penguin!

Nockney · 10/03/2007 23:10

Wait, if poisson rouge is a bit young for a five year old, what does it say about me that I really like fiddling with all the different bits?

brimfull · 10/03/2007 23:12

ah well ds and I have done it to death now,we need some fresh challenges

brimfull · 10/03/2007 23:12

Forgot to say, ahve you tried the Jump Ahead CD-Roms or the Putt-Putt games?

pellshky · 11/03/2007 18:54

Check out my site here . The playroom is probably a bit easy, although many primary schools link to me. The classroom has sudoku type activities for this age and he will probably enjoy the 'break the code' game (mastermind). The links section has lots of things that my 5 year old still enjoys - the BBC little animals activity centre has some maths. If you are looking for software, then the Cluefinders range is good, as is the Baggin The Dragon which you can play with him but at a different level.

Cadmum · 11/03/2007 19:03

This was ds2's favourite: Starfall

pellshky · 11/03/2007 19:07

...and zoombinis .

overtherainbow · 12/03/2007 20:37

One of my favourites www.bbc.co.uk/schools - not geeky btw - quite fun! eg, Barnaby Bear tours!

Theresa · 14/03/2007 20:54

Well I tried the uptoten site and both me, the five year old and his eight year old sister found plenty to amuse us! Didnt think much of poissonrouge i'm afraid, but his favourite so far has been playmobile one where you load the cargo into different transports, right up his street! Now I see there are more suggestions for us to try!
Thanks again everyone

www.educationcity.com my two love it you can start off with a free trial, and it is used in a lot of schools

PestoEasterMonster · 23/03/2007 20:48

My dds love neopets.com

You invent your own virtual pet and have to earn neopoints to feed it and can train it etc etc

good fun (I've even got one!!)
