Can you do a Midwifery degree as a part time or open course?

I don't think so? There are set rules (from the NMC) regarding the amount of time you have to spend on placement/in class, I don't think this can be achieved part-time. As for open course, do you mean distance learning via Open Uni?

It's a full time, minimum 3 year course if you aren't already a registered nurse.

It isn't but if you have adult nursing reg you can do a shortened midwifery programme. My friend did adult nursing part time through open and loved it. It should be more flexible, but we can't hope too much for that with the current govt.

A midwifery degree is pretty full on, prospective students at our local Uni are told that they shouldn't be expected to be able to work part time during their degree as not only with the placements be full time (and following their mentor's shifts) but they don't get the long holidays in which to work either.
