complaining against teachers

Could anyone tell me the official way to complain about a teacher? The head is not interested and she and her husband own the school. There is no board of governors and no official complaints procedure. Should I just write to OFSTED or is there a procedure to follow. I need to leave it until the end of term - my child is leaving and I don't want any vindictiveness. Thanks

This must be a private school then. All schools have a board of governors.

Not sure you can complain to OFSTED. What do you want to complain about? The head and board of governors are usual people to complain to, but if it is a private school, then i think everything stops with the head.

All schools must be registered with OFSTED and will be inspected by them if they are not in the ISC. Presumably it is worth contacting them if there is an issue that would effect their registration.

What is the nature of the complaint eg is it a child protection issue or is it that the teacher is crap?

If the latter you're pretty stuck unless the school is a member of IAPS I guess (and even then they won't do anything if the head teacher indictae sthat she has things under control). You can only really vote with your feet.

oooh, what's your complaint? Come on, spill! We love a bit of teacher bashing!
