Are HTs told about successful appeals before parents?

Might my HT have accidentally let slip information about the outcome of DDs appeal - or was it just weirdly worded platitudes?

School place appeals.

The school and the LA get a copy of the letter you get as the appellant at the same time as you do, so in theory they do not know before you.

If however you are talking about the head teacher of the school you have appealed for and they were at the appeal, then they are not daft. They will know that they had a very weak or very strong case so may be assuming the obvious answer.

No they are not told before you. There are however, often appeals which are based on a technicality. I sit on tribunals and sometimes there is an appeal because the school is full according to admission numbers set, and yet the school could comfortably take more children. Often small village schools who have set admission numbers according to known cohort.
