Nursery schools in Herne Hill/Dulwich area?

We have tentative plans for a move from north of the River to the SE24/SE21 area. I am stuggling, without much local knowledge or weekdays to drive down there, to find info on nursery schools/schools/playgroups in the area.

Any info/recommendations would be gratefully received. I have 2dds (aged 4 and 2).

Is this any use? www.dulwich.co.uk/schools.html
I know that the Herne Hill School has a very good reputation.

The village (CofE) infants school is v popular and has a lovely-looking playground with lots of climbing stuff/creative play areas ? it's also very oversubscribed ? check out the parish boundaries before you choose your house if you're interested. Otherwise, plenty of private provision ? Alleyn's has a very good reputation, and Herne Hill (the most expensive) and JAPS. Rosendale (state primary) has an increasingly good reputation, but it is big (3-form entry right through from infants) and there's a nice (private/daycare0 nursery (the Villa) up in Camberwell, not too far away which also has a (tiny) pre-prep attached.

Janinlondon & Frieda: thank you both so much. I am so grateful.

For playgroups for the little one, St Faiths Church hall at the bottom of red post hill has Toddler Group, Tumble Tots, Monkey Music, Brockwell Lido has daily 'Whippersnappers' music group, an Asquith Courth Nursery, one called Bunnies (I think, which is v popular), and the whole area is TEEMING with young children - and MN-ers!

Blu, many, many thanks! I'm less worried by a move now. To be honest, I was concerned about losing my 'support network'/nursery arrangements here but from the looks of your post, there'll be plenty to keep me off the streets in south London

It's toddler city JoBurger - you'll be fine! The minute you move in post here and you'll be deluged with info.

Thank you, Aloha - I'll do that! I've found out more
information from kind MNs than from my weekend drive-bys and web searches.
