In DS music lesson today they were composing music

Another boy was put with DS and said that he knew how to compose BUT only using BASS CLEF

DS uses TREBLE CLEF and that was what they were supposed to use and so he explained it to the other boy

ie which notes were on each line and what they were called

If people compose in BASS CLEF which instrument is it for???

Would it not be more usual to learn TREBLE first?

I realise that for some instruments like double bass or maybe tuba they are low

.

So do any of you still get to play music? I last got out my violin in June
When breastfeeding is over I must do some detective work on friendly quartet players etc in my area.

really? can't remember any (was grade 8 + standard) but most of my playing was in-the-olden-days-before-mobile-telephones (as we call it chez peahead) so I may just not be remembering correctly...

My daughter plays the cello and most of that music is bass clef. You'd start by learning bass clef but as you got better learn treble but she did piano and singing too so would have know both. other instruments as mentioned here - double bass (very low) etc.
