Is there such a thing as part time schooling?

That's it basically...
My dd has autism and has anxiety & sensory issues and she misses a lot of school because of it. I don't feel I am being supported by the school as all they say is force her into school any way possible and I just can't do that, I can't physically get her into the car for a start and then they send me letters threatening some sort of action Shock.
I want to change schools in September (she's in year 3 now so it would be year 4 that she starts) and I would like her to go maybe 3 days out of 5 and the other 2 days I will teach her at home. Is this possible? Are we allowed to do that?

Flexi Schooling

It's perfectly legal, I did it myself for a few years with my own ds with ASD until I took him out and home educated full time.

Just google flexi schooling. It's likely your local authority will have set guidelines. I've heard that some heads can be resistant but ours wasn't, she couldn't wait to get rid of him!

I think you need to look at "flexi schooling".
Yes, I believe it is possible - although you may need to work with school to determine the best pattern of presence / home schooling.
For example if every morning is reading, (w)riting and (a)rithmatic, and the afternoons are PE, Music and topic work, it might be better to do 5 half days?

Thank you, thank you, thank you both so much! I am going to get right on it and get this sorted. I think if I break the school week up it will be more manageable for her. GrinGrin .
