i have a 5 yr old dd.
for the half term i thought to arrange some activities for her.
i rang a swimming club who has a program for next week-i got their brocheure from school.
its price is 49 Pounds (a bit expensive for me but just wondered and get info). i asked how long they do each day, they told me half an hour.
fgs what can they learn in half an hour? its length of time they enter in pool and out.
has anybody got any ideas about this?
i am also thinking to take her to ballet classes.
do they work the same amount of time too?
thanks for your advices in advance.

most ballet classes are 30 to 45 mins long. Which is enough for most LO's.

£49 for 5 x 30 mins?
I hope that is in very small groups?

Round here half term crash courses (in classes of between 6 and 12 children - on teacher) cost £15 for 5 x 30 mins.

Swimming lessons locally to us are always1/2 an hour its surprising how much they can do in that time and how tired they are when they come out!
Ours would be £15 for 1/2 for 5 days though at the £49
Ballet tends to be similar times IME at that age most kids tend not to be able to do much for that long .
I would go for the swimming as they tend to progress more in a week than the ballet but £49??????

thanks for the information.
i would like to know; if i register her for a ballet class of 30-45 mins a week, would it be enough for her?

Round here they do one ballet class a week at 5 - thats for the pre-primary and primary exams. When they are working on their Grade 1 (usually from year 2 / or 7 ish) they move up to two classes a week. One class a week will be fine.

Round here they are very good - get my 2 swimming much better than the once a week ones thay also have. I think it is becasue they are intensive and also they have one teacher to 4 kids so they can set it to their abilities very easily. Not sure how much they cost but £49 sounds a lot, can you shop around?

Not sure about ballet - dd used to do it after school (30 mins ) but has stopped. I quite fancy modern dance but she is working hard having just gone into Yr 1 and just started piano lessons and is starting Beavers in Ajn so i think that is enoihg!!
