ds came home from school today and told me that he has been accused of calling a teacher a w....r
and threatned with exclusion. another teacher says she heard him say it and hauled hin off to discipline. he is not allowed to go into scool on monday withhout me being there.he assures me that he didnt say it and i believe him,he just wouldnt say anything like that to a teacher. he has named the boy who did say it and this boys best friend has backed my ds.i cant believe this is happening.

Are we talking secondary or primary school here? I would have thought exclusion is quite unlikely, especially if this is secondary, it's more likely to be suspension for a few days.
You need to arrange a meeting with all the kids involved and their parents and the Head and it sounds like there are enough people to back up what your son is saying. I'm not so sure about the primary school side of things as I teach at a secondary school. HTH

THIS IS SECONDARY, HAVE BEEN IN SCHOOL BUT NOBODY TO SEE ME AS IT WAS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVERYBODY LIKES TO SHHOOT OFF EARLY.HAVVE SPOKEN TO DISCIPLINE MEMBER OF STAFF WHO IS DEALLING WITH IT AND SHE SAYS IT SOUNDS LIKE A CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY AND WHEN I GO IN ON MONDAY SHE WILL TRY AND SORT IT OUT.IWAS GOBSMACKED AS I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE MY SON WOULD SAY ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND I WILL NOT STAND BACK AND LET HIM BE PUNISHED FOR SOMETHING HE DID NOT DO. SORRY TO RANT BUT AM REALLY STEAMING OVER THIS.

bubbles - put this thread in chat...more people will see it there. sorry for your shitty day. I don't think though that the school can exclude him for this if it's not a last straw thing and they want rid anyway - they just can't exclude for it. If it's truly misunderstanding they will know what his past behaviour is like and they will try to sort it. good luck

Unless they have a zero tolerance policy tat have to follow a strict procedure of suspensions before they exclude. He generally ahs to have been suspended for 45 days over a period of time before he cna be excluded (unless it was something that was in school policy to warrant immediate expulsion (generally stuff like attacking staff members)

Exclusion can be temporary(what we called suspension) or permanent.

First offence, almost bound to be temporary (unless something MEGA serious).

As Pixiefish says, permanent excluion is actually very hard for schools to do these days.

What happened, Bubbles?

bubbles4 · 12/10/2006 07:32

three meetings with school lots of tears and grief to cut a long story short boy who ds originally said it admitted to it so ds is in the clear.howeverdiscipline member of staff dealing with it lost her rag with us and head of discipline had to step in.if he hadnt and it hadnt been investigated properly i have no doubt that my ds would have been excluded for three days and branded a foul mouth liar as she just did not believe him. thank god we believed him and vowed to fight for him. thanks for your concern.

I hope someone disciplines the member of staff for their behavious. Absolutely appalling.

Great news on the outcome for your ds, and great that you stood by him and fought his corner. Hopefully the school will make sure everyone involved (staff) knows that it was not him, ask if this has been done.

X
