A real tug at the heart strings moment - he is a bundle of nerves and looked so small and vulnerable. I am really not looking forward to GCSEs in a few years!

I'm now thinking I've been on here longer than ten years
Terrifying !

hmc · 27/09/2014 09:01

I just drove past hmc. Don't take hjm out for lunch. Towns always rammed. I did my last one last year. Third time. I will never have to do it again.

hmc · 27/09/2014 09:07

Did all three get in Betty?

Thanks for the tip re town - will make sure that we leave plenty of time to get there to pick him up after the exam, and will then head off elsewhere for lunch.

Yes. Thankfully. I'll dm you later when not on phone. :) btw afterwards he will be mono syllabic and just want to go and play.

Lizzylou · 27/09/2014 09:10

I have just done the same, ds1 was fine though, I am the bag of nerves.

hmc · 27/09/2014 09:12

That's great Betty - avoids all the potential difficulty of 2 getting in and 1 not.

Best of luck Lizzylou for ds1

Just picked my 2 up. One didn't answer 3 maths questions,he was pretty sure the rest was fine but still came out and burst into tears.Sad

So glad I haven't got to do this again.

LePetitMarseillais · 27/09/2014 16:15

Counting down until wine o clock!

hmc · 27/09/2014 17:29

Thanks Olivia Smile

LePetit - mine apparently royally screwed up the English paper and was a bit teary. Thank goodness it's done!

Ah, poor kids. Glad mine aren't clever. Crying and quaking Sad

Muskey · 27/09/2014 17:43

Good luck to all dc sitting 11+. At the risk of hijacking the thread and sounding a bit thick why do some children have to sit 11+. Dd is in year six and there is no 11+ where we live (Surrey/Hants border)

Lizzylou · 27/09/2014 18:12

Muskey, it is quite rare here in Lancs, just one grammar school.

Hopefully the tears were not warranted. Ds1 came out and said that he was in a room close to the toilets "so that was good" and that they had really nice biscuits Hmm
He said the test was ok, but given that there were 650 children there today for 180 places I am really not counting on it.

BettyMoody · 27/09/2014 20:08

Ive had a day of driving boys to rugby. Drove past again at 12. Saw queues of mums. Looked for you!

picnicbasketcase · 27/09/2014 20:10

There aren't any grammar schools near me either, I think I'm quite glad as it sounds stressful for all involved Smile

hmc · 28/09/2014 00:14

I sent his dad to pick him up Betty Grin
