DD'S CLASS HAS 3 P/T TEACHERS

I started a thread about this yesterday (thanks to everyone who replied btw) but I have just found out the situation is worse than I thought.

One teacher does Monday and Tuesday

Another teacher does Wednesday and Thursday morning

The TA does Thursday afternoon (PPA)

Another teacher does Friday.

The parents have not been told about this arrangement, and I don't think most of them even realise. dd is in Yr 1 and is understandably confused (for the first time ever she said she didn't want to go to school yesterday)

Sorry but I'm really annoyed about it.

I think you should have been told

Didn't see your original post so don't know the circumstances around this. However, when my dd was in Yr 1 the new teacher who was due to start in September changed her mind about the job at the last minute. Again, parents were not informed of this so we had been merrily telling the children that Miss X would be their teacher and in fact it was not until the second day of term that I noticed that it was a different teacher. The class had two teachers job-sharing for that first term. Luckily, one of the teachers was a regular supply teacher at the school so the children already knew her and the other had previously been a teacher at the school so was familiar with how things were done. The school managed to recruit a full-time teacher to start in January and the children did not seem bothered about having two different teachers for the first term.

Fair point KTP, I need to find out if this is a temporary or permanent arrangement.

At the end of last year we went to a 'meet the teacher' session (the children were there too) and no mention was made of any part-time set up. We were all led to believe that there would only be one. I think two teachers is ok but not 3.

And I don't understand why the TA covers a whole afternoon PPA for 3 part-timers.
