My DS is 2.7yrs. He has just had his 3rd session at his new pre-school and does 2 2.5hr afternoon sessions per week. They can only offer me these two sessions until September 2007. I have also been offered another place two 2.5hr morning sessions at another pre-school (diff days from the afternoon sessions). I am really debating whether to send him to both pre-schools, but don't know whether it would be a bit much for him / & or confuse him. I don't want to pull him out of the 1st one as it is a really good one and he loves it there. Could you also let me know how many sessions your child has - Your help would be appreciated.

my ds aged 2.6 has just started 2 sessions at his pre-school (in the primary school he will move to), he also does late afternoons (when i work)3-6 before dh or i pick him up on two of these he is attending both sessions on the same day......it did confuse him the first couple of days and we had a couple of tears(but he was fine by the time i had got to the car(as i could peep through the window)

if you think your ds is ready for it(mine certainly is)then do it....(you'll only be paying until your government free 3 year old place starts)

IME places come up as people move away / change childcare needs etc so it may be worth waiting to see what comes up at your current pre-school.

Also bear in mind that when they qualify for funding ( the term after they turn 3) it cannot be split between 2 LEA pre-schools. It can be shared between LEA & private nursery though. So you would be left paying for the second preschool or removing him.
