Ok, so I have bought a roll of plastic film (as asked by DS1's teacher). But I havent attempted to use the stuff in about 25 years! And then I always ended up with bubbles . Is there a fool proof way of doing this???? TIA

A ruler to press out the bubbles as you go.

Put an old sock on your hand and smooth it over

Unpeel very slowly

a ruler

Lay flat, measure size out on wrong side of plastic. Allow extra inch all round but cut off corners.

Start on the inside of a cover, peeling backing paper off slowly. Flip book over and continue across the front, smoothing the plastic onto book with ruler as you peel it. Flip again to do last edge then fold over top and bottom edges.

thanks!

So, I need to lay flat with a sock on my hand and ruler in the other. Right?

I'll let you know how I get on. I am not going to attempt it until the DSs are in bed!!

PS I cant believe I am posting about how to cover books with sticky back plastic. In fact I cant believe I have a child at school who needs books covered in sticky back plastic. How did that happen?!?!?!
