dd turns 19 in September and would like to go back to sixth form to do her a levels. she dropped out of her last sixth form due to the fact that she received very poor as level grades. can you she still do this or would it be viewed as a
child protection
issue due to her age?

I don't see why she wouldn't be able to do it. I'm not 100% about whether she would have to pay? Why would it be a child protection issue?

It is indeed a child protection issue as far as I am aware. She would need to go through the same checks as all of the other adults who work in a school. Could she not do them at college?

Hello summerdays. Education is free as long as a student is under 19. Are you planning for her to repeat both years? There may well be a problem with this, certainly for the second year. You will need to check with the school - do it urgently because it is nearly the end of term.

She would be better advised to go to a local college, rather than school, where you will find a wider range of subjects on offer. You should take advice from some sort of organisation such as Connexions - although they have different names depending on your area. Try looking up 'Connexions (Area name).' Good luck

Of course she won't need to be CRB checked that's ridiculous. Do people think every school six former is checked once they reach 18 which will be in their second year of sixth form?

She is however only entitled to free tuition for this coming year only. Given her poor AS results she might find it difficult doing AS and A2 in one year. Has she looked at other options? Access course for example?

She has also left it incredibly late......
