My DD (8 YR4) is struggling a bit with her maths. Are there any good websites which make maths fun and interesting so I can help her a bit at home?

My Ds plays on Multiplication.com...He enjoys it

But Why TalkinPeace It's such a long winded way of doing a rather simple sum - I glazed over half way through your example there! Why are they teaching this method?

Stoops Yes I liked Ikl as it follows the curriculum so we will use that again - we were concentrating on subtraction tonight and wanted to her to practice this line method nonsence

Heehiles
the linear method works for lots of kids who never "got" the traditional method
so it increases the number of children reaching basic numeracy

and teaches the 'logic check' part that I used to find lacking when marking postgraduate accountancy exams Wink

when the brighter ones move on to the traditionl method they fly with it very fast
fear not

I see! Gosh roll on to the old fashioned way!!

DD's teacher suggested this site to his students (might be a bit American, but maybe still fun?):

www.mathfights.com

Given the theme, I would think boys especially might like the concept/graphics, but dd is enjoying it very much too.
