Hiya all.

I moved to Bromley just a little while ago and would like to find out how to go about finding a primary school for my daughter who is 3 at present. If there a procedure? What are the best primary schools around? And how easy is it to get into these? My husband and I are (as all parents I assume) desparte to get her into a good school.

Any tips from other mums in the area?

Bromley is a big area, so your first objective is to find out which schoools are closest to you (as you are most likely to get into these). Is private an option? When will dd be 4?

here is the LEA website linking to the guide for state school applications.

Have a look on the Bromley council website. It will tell you all the schools in your area and contact numbers to arrange visits. They run a centralised application system for state primary schools. The website will tell you when you need to apply.

If you're in the Shortlands area, St Marks, Highfields and Valley are all supposed to be good. (Though I don't have direct experience yet as my DD is just 16 months!)
